First I'll give ya'll a background of me!! It all started when I was put on antibiotics for a sinus infection a couple of months ago. Afterwards I had vaginal itching/irritation/painful sex and went and saw my doctor, I tested positive for bacterial vaginosis. The cremes didnt work so they prescribed metronidazole which helped but I still had irritation. I went back to my doctor, who swabbed me again and the swabs came back normal so I just used some rephresh which helped. Fast forward to just recently. I had the itching/irritation/painful sex again, went to the doctor who did the swabs and just prescribed Clindamycin to help with the infection since they didnt know what it was and I wasnt supposed to get the swabs back for a couple of days. I let the doctor know that there was a possibility I could be pregnant and she ran a urine pregnancy test which was negative (well of course it is!! Im not late on my period yet!!). I've been taking the pills anyways (started taking them Thurs. night) and today I get the results back (I get them through the computer) and my Candida swab came back positive. If I remember correctly that is a yeast infection. Well, the doctor gave me no recommendations!! Should I keep taking the pills? I dont know much about the Clindamycin and if its even effective for yeast infections. I am typing this quickly because I have to leave soon, otherwise I'd be online doing tons of research :) but I thought I'd ask you ladies what you think I should do. I've never had a yeast infection before. Also. Can I still have sex, or will I pass it to my partner? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi there,
Clindamycin is for treating bacterial infections, so it won't treat your yeast infection (since it is a fungal infection).
See how you go with it, you may be OK.
