periods/pills

My period is late.......I'm not worried about being pregnant because I haven't had sex in three months and I've had periods since then. I have started exercising a lot in the past month and a half, and my last period was shorter than usual, so I am thinking that could be contributing. My question is this......I'm seeing my long distance guy in one week and have been waiting for my period so I can start my pills up again , but I need to start them a week ahead to be protected. Should I just start them anyhow? Because there isn't a guarantee I will get my period before I see him......I have heard people that work out significantly can sometimes skip periods. Any suggestions about starting my pills? TIA.....

Hi there,

Yes, if you work out significantly and lose body fat and weight, then this can cause a delay in your periods.

There's no reason that you can't start your pills now.
