Ping-pong sized ball at vagina opening

Hi,
Ugh, well, I noticed this painless, hard lump/ball (around ping pong ball sized perhaps a bit smaller) to the right of my vaginal opening about a year ago now. There was also a smaller lump-type thing further in the vagina on the left side of the vagina too. At the time I thought, it'll be nothing..perhaps it's normal and dismissed it. Months later the larger of the two is still there but on the opposite side. It doesn't protrude so far - I use a vibrator and that can be inserted without discomfort.
I recently started researching it, again, and found things like 'cancer' 'tumor' 'cysts' 'gland blockage'. I'm 18 years old, don't have a..close relationship with family but obviously if this turned out to be something that needed surgical removal I'd need to tell them. I'm really scared about going to the doctors but I know I've got to..I'm due on my period anytime now so can't go yet. I assume they'll want to do an examination and things.
I am a virgin and I've only ever tried tampons once.
Anyone had this and can tell me what to expect or what it's most likely to be and what treatment will be?
Thanks..

Hi opal90, welcome to the board.
At your age, the chances of it being cancer are very, very slim. It could be a blocked gland, a cyst, or if it isn't in the vaginal opening, it could be an ingrown hair.
You could try applying a hot, wet facecloth to the area every few hours, for a few days, and see if that draws anything to the surface.
If it changes colour, or there is the presence of a mole or freckle, you should see your doctor immediately.
Keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't start to go down soon, then you should see your doctor.
Ok, thanks.
I'm dreading it :|
Not bothered much myself if it needs surgically removing or something
