Late period

Hey my period is almost a week late. last week i had pms symptoms and i really thought i was about to start. when the worst day got here i was ready for it. My nipples usually hurt before my period and they hurt and i was feeling that first day cramping as well as being crazy thirsty all week. well it didn't start. Everything got better except lately i have really been thirsty like throat hurts if i do not drink water. And of course with the drinking of the water i have had to pee alot. if i just had water(usually a bottle at a time over about a 30 min period. unless i am really thirsty.) about every 30 to 45 minutes if not then about every 1 and a half to 2 hours. but that is only when i haven't had anything to drink in a little bit. the last 2 days there has been traces of a very little brown blood (old blood, and my cervical discharge has been kinda thick). I am std free so i know it is not that. i have a pregnancy test on monday at my local health dept. Now i am pretty sure that i am not a preggo because i have had two periods since the last time i had sex. i took an at home preggo test a few weeks ago just to be sure and it was neg. i have wanted alot of carbs and salt and milk(ice cream cheese milk) lately. kinda been not so much into coffee, greasy food, or sweets as much as i usually am. i contributed that to the period stuff. you know you get the crazy munchies when you are about to start. i just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas as to what could be happening or has had the same situation. please let me know. thanks.

Hi there, welcome.
Heaps of things can cause us to ovulate, which then causes our periods to be late. Ovarian cysts, stress, illness, excessive exercise, sudden weight loss or gain can all be culprits.
Since you have tested negative to pregnancy, we can rule that out. Right now it's just a matter of waiting, and if it doesn't show up soon, you might have to talk to your doctor about taking Provera to induce your period.
