i'm sort of confused. as a absolutely normal mid 20's age girl as myself,
I've noticed few weird spottings; "bruises" on my inner thighs days, before
and or after my monthly menstrual period. I notice physical bruises on
my body, but I am not sexually active with any male. I asked my cousins
what could've caused the "bruising" since I don't punch myself, nor
kick myself while I'm asleep. My Q... is it normal that I notice
bruising on my legs days before and or after my period? Do I lack normal
blood count? Should I drink medication to increase my blood pressure?
Is it my poor diet that could be causing the bruises? I know it's not rape.
lol. My older cousins have baseball bats lying around trunks of their cars
to deal with that kind of b.s. I'm just personally starting to worry about
my own safety "down there" these days, I don't know if it's because of my
diet, age, stress, or whatever, but I need some answers.... Could you answer my Qs???

Hi there,

Bad diet can contribute to this sort of thing. If you aren't getting enough vitamins, minerals, and iron (particularly during your period, for this one), then naturally your body is going to be more prone to things like bruising.

That said, you should discuss this with your doctor, just so they can make sure nothing more serious is going on. In any case, you should make an effort to improve your diet, or at the minimum, take a multivitamin to help your body function properly.
