I had my tubes tied after c-section in 2005. This month i had mid cycle bleeding about 14 days after end of period with vomiting. Went to gyn had pelvic and trnsvag ultrasounds. Went for results, ans was told ultrasounds were poor quality, ovaries and remaining tubes were not visible. Dr said ovaries are failing, bleeding due to hormonal imbalace. period is now 1 week late, have had pms symptoms for 2 weeks(tender breasts, cramping, increased urination). My cycles are very regular, never any probs. Dr wants to do d&c and abalation to cease bleeding. I know very unlikely, but is it poss I am preg, possibly tubal, or are all symptoms due to hormone imbalance. thanks, any input appreciated.

Hi there, welcome to the board.

Did your doctor determine that you have a hormone imbalance by doing hormone testing? Or was that a guess on his part? Did they do a pregnancy test? If you are concerned about pregnancy, you should take a pregnancy test and just see what happens.

The mid-cycle bleeding doesn't sound like it is related to pregnancy.

Thanks for your response. No, he didn't give me a pg test. I took one, but it was a faulty test, nothing in test window. He only guessed on hormone inbalance, said I had no cysyt, polyps, fibriods etc, so that's what it "has" to be.

If that's the case, I suggest you get a second opinion. You need the blood work to find out if it is a hormone problem or not. If it is, then you will know whether or not it is something that is worth treating hormonally, or if you should consider other options. This is a much cheaper option than having a D&C or an ablation. If there is a hormonal issue, then the D&C or ablation will not necessarily fix things.

A second opinion sounds very reasonable. A blood test for pregnancy and other hormones is the easiest first line of testing to do. An ultrasound isn't a bad idea either, of course now you'll need to see someone who can do it correctly.
