Hi everyone,
I have been lurking here for awhile, but now i need some input. I am 41 yrs and just went for a Colposcopy today i did actually have 1 in 04 it came back nothing but inflamation. With this 1 i don't no i feel so scared! He said something about the a cells looking abnormal i am freaking out! any opions would be grateful thank you!

The colposcopy will simply help the doctors figure out how deep the abnormality goes, and if it requires further treatment at this point, or if it is worth waiting it out to see if your body fights it off. Unfortunately, if you have HPV, your body will have to fight the virus for the rest of your life, so regular paps will be necessary to keep on top of the symptoms in order to prevent cervical cancer. Until the lab results come back to confirm what is going on, there's no way to know for sure what kind of risk you are in right now.
Inflammation can be enough to cause abnormal cells, and even a basic vaginal infection can cause inflammation, so hopefully that's all it is.
