Don't use soap on the privates?

I read that you're not supposed to use soap on your genitals. Is that right? If so, what are you supposed to use to clean?

Soap can cause dryness to the genital tissue, which can be quite fragile. Some women will never have problems using soap down there, and for others it can cause issues, particularly if there is a pre-existing condition like vaginal dryness. Soaps and body washes also have fragrances that can cause irritation for some women. Irritated and dry vaginal tissue can more at risk of vaginal infections, because yeast infections and BV can penetrate tissue that is suffering from damage due to irritation.
Ideally, the recommendation is to refrain from using anything containing chemicals and fragrances, so if you can find a natural product to use, then that is probably more preferable, otherwise the best idea is to simply use warm water and a wash cloth that doesn't have soap residue.

Hi! I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to almost everything I put on my skin. My doctor told me to use Dove unscented for sensitive skin. I even use the deodorant. I've never had a problem with it. Give it a try. It's cheaper than Summer's Eve.
