Is it called the Thin Strip? Has anyone had any side effects from it?
When I went to my yearly last Monday I came home and later that night I got REALLY swollen down there and then itchy. So I thought maybe I got a yeast inf, bought monistat and used it. Didn't help. I was still really swollen, then it started to burn when I would pee and wipe..... I used hydrocortisone and it helped. THen I started drinking cranberry juice and it somewhat helped.
The only thing different with my exam was this thin strip test.... I've never had it before. Do you think I could have had an allergic reaction to it?
I'm still a little bit itchy and burns a tiny bit......... I guess I need to call my drs office..... UGH! I am allergic to latex if that helps at all, my gyn didn't use latex gloves tho.....
And at my appt, we discussed what I was going to do about my endo. He said that when I stop nursing that my pain will increase TONS b/c my estrogen levels with go up again. Just what I needed to hear. He recommends a hysterectomy..............
Thanks for reading!!
Heather

Hi there,
I don't know anything about the new pap test, since it's not available here in New Zealand. I think you should call your doctor and find out more about it.
If you are done having children, then a hysterectomy might be the best option for you if your endo is bad. Laparoscopic surgery can be done to remove the endo, but you would still have a recovery time, and there's a high likelihood that it would return. Your other option is to go on the pill, which can often control the symptoms of endo if the endo isn't too bad.
