Cyst questions

Back in March, at my annual, they found an ovarian cyst.

They said it wasn't that big and to come back in a month to make sure it didn't get bigger.

Well, we didn't have insurance at the time, so I haven't gone back.

Fast forward to today.

No matter what time of the month it is, I sometimes get what feels like mittleschmertz or the ovulation cramping.

Only on one certain side.

We are trying for another baby and I am obviously having lots of sex with DH.

Problem is, when he inserts himself fully into me, I get a stabbing pain in the exact same spot that I get my ovulation cramping. It runs up right from the top of my bikini line almost to my hip bone. Certain positions are worse than others. When I say pain, I mean, I shriek and he has to stop for a minute.

Can cysts cause pain? And can they cause pain during sex?

If they do cause pain, will I have to get it removed? They told me it shouldn't get any bigger, but obviously in six months time, it could get bigger one would assume.

I know that endometriosis can cause pain during sex, but I don't know that I have that. I mean I got pregnant the first time with no trouble at all.

Anyway, that's a lot of questions. But I'm really worried now. And I'm afraid that I won't get pregnant somehow because of this cyst.

Thanks in advance

From my experience ovarian cysts can be very painful. You really should go get it checked especially if you're ttc'ing!! I was put on bcp to get rid of mine. I hope yours stops hurting and hasn't gotten any bigger. Adn good luck on your baby making endeavor!!!

Welcome to the board ekusmma.

It sounds like your ovarian cyst didn't resolve or you have developed another one.

I get that too. I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I was ttcing and was able to dissolve my cysts using castor oil packs (google it if you're interested) on my belly as well as soaking tampons in castor oil and use those, changing several times a day, for two weeks. Per the advice of a naturopath BTW ;o)
