Why is this happening?

Hi all
I have a situation going on that I'm a bit confused about. My monthly cycle began on July 15th and though they do run pretty long 7-12 days sometimes; this time was different. On Friday I started to notice that I had a pretty heavy discharge, kind of like I do at the end of my cycle; but this time, it turned into yet another cycle. I'm cramping a bit and I have to use a tampon again. It's not has heavy as my normal cycles, yet, it's still happening. I did have a vitamin B12 shot on Friday morning, would this have anything to do with it? Also, I started a diet in July and I lost 16 pounds, would this have anything to do with it? Or is this something that would constitute a red flag and should I contact my doctor? One more thing, it changed to the heavy flow wherein I needed to start using the tampon on Saturday after my husband and I has sex; could that have anything to do with this?
Thanks

Hi there,
Well your period is very long to start off with, and I think you should talk to a doctor about that. Also, with a recent large weight loss, this could have further imbalanced your body. Fat absorbs estrogen, so as you lose weight, it releases a lot more hormone back into your body.
I think you should talk to your doctor about your cycles in general, not just this sudden change.
