Here goes... weird period question...

Ok, ready for way TMI?

My periods are about 12-13 days long. Start with brown spotting and ending the same. My flow is SO heavy around days 5 and 6 that I can soak through a super pad and a super tampon in 20 minutes, for about 5 to 6 hours straight. Depending on how active I am. It seems if I am on my feet my flow is a little slow. All this is topped off with clots the size of..... well....... at least a couple of ounces. I know, gross.

Basically, I am turning to this board because I have no idea what is going on. I have always had a heavy, heavy period. BUT never like this. I am 27 and had a baby in May 2007. I was on the pill for about 3 years prior to TTC for one year. It has seemed to get worse consistantly since the birth of my daughter.

Not sure if this has anything to do with my problem, but.... I did have 6 cysts on my oviaries at my 6 week ultrasound (October 2006), which the doctor said not to worry to much about at that time, but 2 were rather large. He said we would take another look at them later.... well forgot to.

Any info would help. I know I have to see a doc, but any ideas what could be going on here??

Thanks in advance!

Kari

Hi Kari and welcome to the board.

From what you are describing, I wonder if you have any history of endometriosis or uterine fibroids.

Thank you so much for that information. Endometriosis sounds like something that would make sense. I will talk to my OB/GYN soon. I am wondering if this would affect ttc #2.... which we jsut recently decided to do!

Thank you again,

Kari

Hey Kari, I know that having endometriosis can make it more difficult to get pregnant BUT not impossible.
