Yeast - partner?

Hello all,
Everytime me and my boyfriend (serious, monogamous relationship BTW) have our 'fun' I get a yeast infection about one day after. We do not use a condom (we both do not have any stds, we have been checked by a doctor) so Im thinking that the unprotected sex is the factor as to why I always get one after. I have been to the doctor twice for this (both times the results coming back as a yeast infection) and have been given a one dose pill that clears it up completly in 3 days. Well, I cant keep going back to the doctor everytime I get one so should I ask for a prescription for the pills? There's no way I can spend $10-$20 on over the counter meds EVERYTIME I get one...that would way way way too much money! (Gosh, that sounds cheaps but seriously - I get them quite often and in the long run it would add up to too much $$$...)
Should I get him checked? Is there anyway we can have intercourse w/o a condom without me getting one of these infections right after???
And I know youre probably asking yourself why I dont just use a condom and have the YI problem solved (I dont get them when we use a condom) - Because we both enjoy it more without (honestly, I can hardly feel ANYTHING with one on), and I want us both to be happy in bed (he perfers w/o a condom also).
Side notes: I am on birth control. The YIs Ive been getting have not been severe (hardly any itching, no redness, and just slight discharge almost similar to regular discharge besides it being a tad whiter.) Also, one did clear up on its own.
Any thoughts, comments, etc would be so appriciated! Thanks

Hi there,
It is possible that your partner is giving you a yeast infection. If you have noticed any rashes on the head of his penis after intercourse, or he complains of burning, then it is a very real likelihood.
Another alternative is that what you are really experiencing is vaginal dryness, which can cause the burning and itching sensations that are usually associated with a yeast infection. This would explain why you have had an "infection" clear up on its own. Also, vaginal dryness takes a couple of days to settle after sex. Condoms tend to reduce that friction a little, especially near the beginning of intercourse when they still have a lubricant on them. The fact you see so little discharge could also put weight on this idea. The pill can cause vaginal dryness, and can make your cervical fluid change consistency.
