Hi there. I just discovered I have prolapsed after the birth of my second daughter. She was born 2 1/2 weeks ago, and the delivery went very well. No cuts, pretty much no pain afterwards, and I thought everything was going well. I did notice a bit more discomfort in my lower abdomen about a week later that I remembered with my first, but didn't think too much of it. Then, over the weekend, I realized I had prolapsed. I can see a bulge of tissue when I am sitting, and I could feel my cervix about an inch in. I am still having discharge, but it only drains while I am on the toilet, nothing on the pad.
So yesterday I had my doctor examine me while I was there for my daughter's 2 week check-up. He only examined me while I was laying down, and didn't think the prolapse was too bad. He said, "you could try to do some kegals if you want, and I check it again at your 6 week appointment." Then he said, "of course things won't be the same, you had a baby." Okay, I know this isn't life or death, but I was really expecting a different reaction. He didn't seem to care very much. I was upset, and couldn't even think about what to ask him. Should I be as worried as I am? Or should I just do the kegals and see what happens? Could it get worse with certain activities? Is there anything else I should be doing or avoiding right now?
TIA,
Cari
