hi everybody-
three weeks ago my GYN diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis (Gardnerella) and gave me a five day run of Metrogel, which i finished up about two weeks ago. we suspect it was from being on a very powerful antibiotic a week or so before that pretty much killed off any and all bacteria, threw my ph off, etc. anyway, all symptoms went away, all was well- yay.
but a couple days ago after sex with my partner we noticed a bizarre... discharge. i don't even know what to call it. it was white clumps of, well i don't know WHAT it was. several thick, almost fibrous, white/off white clumps about the size of a dime. luckily he is very understanding and didn't freak out like i sort of did. since then i've noticed it when i use the bathroom as well, and some throughout the day in my undies (i'm sure it was there before, i just didn't know to look for it), but not nearly as much.
i've done some online research and have found that this actually is somewhat common, which makes me feel a little better, however what i don't know is what the heck it IS. or for that matter, how long will it last? it's been 14+ days since i started the metrogel, more than a week since the rx was done, and it's still happening??
and it's most definitely NOT a yeast infection- this is something completely different from yeast discharge. plus i have no symptoms of anything, no itch, no irritation, no smell, nothing.
so, yeah... before i call my dr. and freak out on her, can someone tell me what the heck is going on down there?
thanks in advance :)

Hi merst10 and welcome.
From what I am reading (http://www.medicinenet.com/metronidazole_gel/article.htm), a side effect of the metrogel IS yeast infections and your discharge really does sound like yeast.
