Hello,

Quick question, My daughter is 5 years old. Occasionally when she wakes up in the morning, there is a green discharge in her underwear. I have taken her to the dr and they have done a culture and it came back as some kind of bacteria. They told me they needed to give penicillin to clear it up. The only thing is, this stuff seems to go away on it's own. Has anyone else or their daughter had this. One more note...they told me it's probably the way she is wiping herself. Not good enough or pulling stuff from her bottom to her front. Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi there,

If the culture came back for bacteria, then she needs the penicillin to clear it up. It's not likely that the bacteria is really going away on its own, the symptoms might simply be worse some times than at others. If you leave it untreated, then this may cause her further problems down the track. You should also make sure she is wiping front to back every time.

Hi
As a child i suffered with the same thing, let your daughter do the course of penicillin and monitor her for its return, hopefully it dosent!
If however it does return you may want to look at your daughters diet, turns out i suffered as a child with recurrent bacterial infections and thrush due to allergies and food intolerances, which i only discovered way into my teens.
hope all goes well.. and keep your eyes boggled over the laundry!

regards
