Hi there,

I've been having trouble the last several weeks with my vaginal and anal area becoming red, irritated, and bleeding at times. I know the anal part could be because we tried to do some anal but it didn't work so well. But its dry in the vaginal area as well. I'm on Mircette on a 3 month cycle and last month I came down w/ the flu, couldn't take my pills so ended up having my period 2 wks before I should have. I wonder if maybe that threw off my hormones. Also, I have been taking showers instead of baths the last couple of months, not sure if that would change anything?

Any ideas, advice?

Hi there,

Have you been using any different products in that area? e.g. lubricants, body soaps, moisturisers, feminine hygiene products etc? Do you suffer from any discomfort during sex, which might be attributable to vaginal dryness or a yeast infection?

I haven't used anything different down there (new soap or lubricants, etc). The skin cracks and starts to bleed on the outside of the vagina during sex, so I've stopped right now. A couple days ago I started applying some vasaline to try and promote some healing.

I'd see your doctor about it. There are a few conditions that could be causing this problem.

I went in to my dr. yesterday. She didn't find anything odd on the inside, so she's guessing its an odd external yeast infection and gave me some cream for it. I will be treating w/ monostat on the inside as well shortly. To reduce irritation I'm waiting a couple of days before using the internal so the outside skin has some time with the prescription cream first. (can't hurt, no yeast detected internally).
