Hi all,
Ok, well I saw my GYN last night and told her the whole story about how my ex called me up out of the blue days after I broke up with him "just to say hi" and to tell me "oh, my cold is feeling better, guess that means my immune system is good and my T-Cells are good". That scared me to DEATH, because only a few weeks prior there was oral, hence my worrying myself sick, which is what prompted me to post below… I was wondering what the truth was about the risks of catching it through that way and if it was true about your stomach acids killing it.
Not only did my dr's jaw literally DROP when I told her what he did, but she said it sounds to her like he's just messing with my mind trying to scare me, but she said she wanted to make 100% sure with me and that we'd be watching me closely for a while. She drew my blood last night (which is kind of a baseline because its only not even a month since my last contact with him), then she said I need to come back every 3 months for a blood draw until I hit a year. She said 6 months is textbook to be considered ok, but that she'd rather do more than less. Also, I asked her about the whole acids-in-the-stomach thing. She said yes, there is so much acid/bile in the stomach that it will usually kill it all…. Bottom line she said she thinks im going to be ok, but that we're going to keep the blood draws going just in case…
