....because I really, really hate going to the gynocologist. It's always painful and humilating to start with. And my new one is one of the best in the business, so she has zero time to really talk to you and get to know you. It's nice to have someone who's so good she can practically tell what's wrong with you at a glance, but I'd like to tell her why I really don't like being on the pill. (Like SEVERE mood changes. Think rabid werewolf during full moon.) And many other things.
Plus I don't care for the fact that despite a history of breast cancer in the family, she doesn't think I need to start doing mamograms - even though my GP recomends them. Yes, I'm only 32 but still it wouldn't hurt to check.
I'm overdue for a checkup. And I know I need to go back at least one time to her to get a clean bill of health before looking for someone else. It's just so stressful to even think about.

Is it better for a gyn to be the 'best in the business' or have the time to sit and listen to your concerns?
I want one who's both good and can take time to talk rather then being "whiz bang done!" and onto the next woman in less then 15 minutes. But with an HMO I have to go with whom I'm refered to. I figured I'd go do this one one last time, then ask for a new referal for the next time. For one who can actually take time to talk to me.

HMOs sure make it harder to find a second opinion!
I have a friend who always brings a list of questions with her and, if the doctor is in a hurry or heading for the door, lets the doctor know she's
Hi there,
I agree with all that Cindi has posted to you. Another thing you could try is getting her last appointment of the day so she has no excuse to rush on to her next client/patient.
The Cl's gave you great advice, especially the one who just posted. When I first started going, my gyn always scheduled me for the end of the day because I had emotional issues and needed extra time before I could go home. (Or else I had a tendency to faint/almost faint).

I might try that if I can. However I usually end up with my mom tagging
