Can anyone help pain and itching symptom

I've been having burning and itching to my vulva and anal area now for oh going on three months. I tried yeast cremes and it didn't help. Then I went to the Doc and was told I have Bacterial Vaginosis so I used Metrogel cream. It didn't help. 5 Dr. office visits later I am still itching and in pain. I was cultured and it came back negative. Last Dr. visit a culture was examined under scope and the Gyno said it didn't look like I had an infection.

My period just came yesterday and between the fluids and the pads or both I am in extreme misery. It is burning and itching like mad and I don't know what to do.

Has anyone had any relife from something like this? I was told to try gynolotrimine and salt rinses or soaks by the Doc and given a script for a BC pill in case it's hormonal.

Hi again,

Since estrogen isn't so much responsible for building up the lining in your uterus, it may or may not have contributed to a longer/heavier period. If you have other problems (e.g. fibroids) that haven't been diagnosed yet, estrogen can sometimes feed them and make them worse (which would in turn cause more bleeding).

I have found that with anything that elevates my estrogen levels, it causes some changes in when I ovulate. The longer it takes for ovulation to occur, the more time your uterus will have to build up the initial lining before progesterone kicks in and builds up the rest of it. This can lead to a heavier and longer period. Same goes if you suffer stress or anxiety and cause your period to be late.

If it is indeed vaginal dryness, then you will need to avoid any hormonal birth control for a while and see if the problem improves. You could also talk to your doctor about having your estrogen levels tested to see if they are low. I also suggest that you talk to your doctor about the sudden change in your period after using the Premarin cream to see if they think the two are related.

I do have pretty bad fibroids. I'm going to see a gyno today and hopefully I can remember what all I need to ask him or tell him and see if he can help me. I've stopped the premarin cream for now. Cross your fingers for me that this guy can help me out.

Time,

I just had my period, so I didn't notice any symptoms during that time, but it's over and I'm feeling like "something's wrong" again. I dread going back to my gyno because I think he thought I was crazy and that there was nothing wrong with me. I think I need to find a female gyno.

I just finished my period and I ended up with a doubling in size of my labia from a reaction. They were swollen pretty bad. The only thing I can think of was the blood and/or pads did it. Now I've got burning and itching worse again. I even tried to use a cloth pad but it was irritating as well as the disposable pads. I don't know what to do. I keep everything off the area that I can, I wash with water put through the filter we have, I don't use soap or fab softener, I use laundry soap free of perfumes or dyes, I can't wear anything for clothes but sweats or skirts. This really isn't any fun.
