HELP FLUID IN PELVIS

Thank you for reading my post.. Lets see last year I had a ct that showed a large amount of pelvic fluid and large complex cyst. The amount of fluid was so much that they had to insert a tube to drain it. That didn't work and ended up in the process needing a small bowel resection. During the surgery they also cleaned out my uterus and removed my appendix. Now recently I was tested for lymphoma and a ct was done on my abdomen and the fluid has returned along with another cyst. I was told to get a us after my period. Which was in August... I had to wait till ins changed and just got the us done last Thursday. The fluid is still their and it is a large again amount almost my entire pelvic cavity. She had the dr look at it right then and checked to make sure no fluid was in the upper abdomen neg for any. I have been reading a lot about it and freaking myself out I would just like to hear from someone who has been through this or has a idea of what could be going on. I'm not thinking cancer only because their is no cyst that was seen. The last cyst I had was a complex cyst and the fluid that was drained was bloody and then turned cloudy. Please help me should I be getting another DRs opinion

Hi there,

It sounds like you have quite a few problems with cysts, and it's possible that the cysts reach a certain point where they are bursting or draining in the pelvis, causing all that fluid. Do you know if the cysts found under u/s are always in the same spot, or are they appearing in different spots? Pelvic fluid will normally be reabsorbed into the system after a period of time, unless there is a constant problem with drainage from somewhere.

Quite often, the way to reduce a problem with cysts is to take the birth control pill. You could try this and see if your problems with cysts/fluid in pelvis seem to resolve itself over time.
