Since the begining of this Year 2008. They haven't been on time, they have either been a week early, a week late. or not when i expect them. My periods I have been charting this year have been all over the place. usually they were every 27-30 days, usually 28 days. now there every 26-33 days! I cannot tell my husband when i will have my next period, or anyone because i don't even know? I want to know iof this is the beginging of perimenopause. I have read somewhere that somtimes women in their 30's,40', or 50's start going through perimenopause, and it can start with irregular periods. I am 31 years old, and my Mother and Aunt went through early menopause in their 30's, my aunt started her menopause at the very young age of 30, and ended at 45, my Mother started at the age of 35 and ended when she was 50. My Grandmother started in 30's too and ended in her early 50's.
I was worried about this in my late 20's because even though my periods were on time, i was having a hared time sleeping, and i would wake up in the middle of the night, very hot, and sweating and it wouyld take 3-4 hours for me to cool down and go back to bed. That lasted 3 weeks though and i haven't experienced it since. I did tell my old Gyno about it, and mentioned perimenopause to him, and he said even though some members in the family went through it early doesn't mean I will, he said he would be more concerned if I had irregular periods or I missed a period.
No the other thing is that my days haven't been the same either. Some days it's 2 days long, then next month 5 days long, then the next month 3 days long, and then i will go through a period or a couple of months with 3 day long periods, and then go to a 5 days period. My period before all of this started, (because i used to chart my period, due to some cysts I had in my late 20's that cause my period to be 3 weeks late once, I started charting my periods to see if I could detect a cyst but still haven't been able to do it right), was 5 days long on the dot!!
So why do women go through this irregualrity? Is what i want to know, is it the change, or fluctuating hormones?? What?? My husband finds it weird and he even asked me once a couple of months back, if he though i could be going through early menopause, i was like I hope not!!

Here is my chart i have been recording hopefully you guys can see it:

Hi there,
I can't access your chart, because you don't have your preferences set to public view.
Anyway, even without that, if you're worried about the possibility of menopause, and you are planning to have children, I suggest you see your doctor for hormone testing. It sounds like there is some irregularity with your hormones if it is causing your period to constantly change between 2-5 days.
