Im not sure if this is the right board to post but I am having a lot of issues down there and not too sure what to think.
First, my periods are so screwed up. I am on the pill and take it religiously so that can't be it. No weight loss or weight gain and not any more stress than normal. For two months they have been hit and miss. I had one that lasted about two days (light) and then a week and a half later another one that was one day (light).
Secondly, I am bleeding in between. Not enough to wear a tampon or to soil my underwear. I have douced thinking maybe I just needed to clean up a little bit. It is a dark brown color, looks like old blood, but for one month this has been going on.
Thirdly, sex has become really uncomfortable. It almost feels like I have a "friction" burn inside of me and no matter how much lube is used it just isn't comfortable.
I am calling my doctor today but just kind of wanted to see if anyone else has experienced all these symptoms at one time before.
A little background. My boyfriend and I were both checked for std's, however, two months into us having sex he had a bump in his groin area develop and was told he has hpv and that he probably got it from his previous girlfriend since he and I had just really started having sexual relations and hpv doesn't form that quickly. Since hpv isn't a standard test given for std's neither of us had been tested for it. So, the chances of me having it are pretty great. When I go in for my annual exam in a few weeks I am going to be tested for it.
Also, I tood a pregnancy test two weeks ago and it was negative.

Hi there, welcome to the board.
Unfortunately, the fact your periods are so screwed up on the pill could very well be your pill. It is quite common to have breakthrough bleeding as a side effect. And if you had irregular periods prior to going on the pill, then your pill might not be controlling the symptoms any more. I suggest trying a different pill and seeing if that helps.
Secondly, you will need to get regular pap tests to get tested for HPV. Men can only be tested for HPV if they have physical symptoms (e.g. genital warts).
And finally, the friction you are feeling during sex could be caused by a couple of things - vaginal dryness, caused by the pill you are on, a vaginal infection, or lack of foreplay prior to intercourse.
Good luck!
