Hello everybody
I have been having this weird thing happening to me.
In Jan I had a yeast infection, treated it and didn't think anything about it. I started getting this burning sensation right at the tip of vulva by the clitoris. I went to my gyn, she looked at me and said there was nothing there. No yeast, or BV or anything like that. I was having axienty attacks at that time, so she put me on some antidepressants and sent my on my way. I had to go back four weeks later. I'm much better emotionally, but I am still having that burning sensation. She checked me again and still didn't find anything. No lesions, no yeast, anything. She gave me this cream that they give to menopausal women, and said if it didn't help we could always test for herpes. I am worried now, but I don't see how it can be herpes. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost two years now, we are are faithful to each other. If he had it, wouldn't I have shown symptoms before now? Plus, I have to visible bumps, warts, or anything. The really weird thing is it is not painful to touch. I can touch down there and no pain, nothing when I pee. Could it just be dry? Could it be a symptom of my anxiety disorder? It's driving me crazy. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
If your doctor had any suspicion of Herpes she should have tested you right away - that sounds ridiculous that she'd say "we could always test if this cream doesn't work" and everything I've ever read about Herpes indicates that symptoms would be showing, not just the burning sensation. I found some links you may wanna check out:

Let us know dear! :]
While I hope it's not Herpes, I agree with the other poster tha maybe your doctor could've run tests to rule it out.
Thanks for the replies, and especially the links. The Vulvodynia sounds just like what i have. My doctor told me that she did not believe I had herpes, she was just at a lost of what it could be cause she was seeing nothing there. She said there wasn't even any redness or irritation visible.
I'm going to keep these in mind, and if I need to return to my doctor I will ask her about them.
Thanks
