Hello Ladies, my hubby's doctor refered him out to see an endo for hyperthyroidism--Yah!,but can't get an appt until august 23rd--boo! (we're gonna try to get him into my docs office to see if we can get a sooner appt) but the poor guy has had problems with heavy sweating, anxiety, lots of diarrhea, and being warm. I was wondering if any of you have advice on what we can do to help until the appointment. I've read that broccoli can slow down the thyroid function. I just feel sorry for him and hope that there is something we can do to help him out in the meantime. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for all you ladies do! --lisa

That's what I was concerned about - what you mentioned about Bugleweed. Trying another doctor may be a good option. When I made my first appointment with my new endo, I had to wait 6 months to get in!! It's very difficult, I agree. But your husband has a good advocate in you!! You've learned so much already. And I got the noni juice info from the other post. It's interesting stuff. Makes you wonder! Cathy

Hi everyone! New to this board, but when I saw Thyroid Conditions I had to stop in. My regular MD (after some bloodwork) suggested an Endo. dr. I made the appoint. 2 mos. ago. I can't get in to see her until Sept.! My doctor thinks I am hyper. I just want to thank all of you! I just started reading some of the posts & printed out a few. I learned more from you guys in the last 30 min. than I learned from my own dr. I'm bringing these lists to the endo. and see what she has to say. Thanks a million!

You're welcome jeannie, I'm glad we helped you. I know I was (and sort of still am--at times) confused about my own thyroid condition and the treatments and there is a TON of information that your doctor doesn't tell you. This is a great place to start. I hope we get to keep in touch with you. With the amount of information I know about what's going on with me it helps me to feel better about what's going on with my thyroid. And its great when you know there are lots of other people who are dealing with this too. Also check out http://thyroid.about.com/ --lisa
