i have taken the .1mg now for 4 days. i want to begin feeling better- but i am still super depressed and generally feel like i would like a whale to come and swallow me up. my last TSH was 63- i have never known it to be this low- and i feel like crap. i am so down and i am trying everything to lift my mood. i watched funny movies this weekend- something about mary, meet the parents and family man. ugh. everything is bleak.

I know how you feel. I've heard it takes a good month, generally longer to feel the effects of a dose change etc..... Not trying to discourage you but I too wanted it to happen ASAP.

Hi Erika - Hang in there!! Try to focus on the future. I know that sounds kind of silly, but it's true. Better days are ahead and what you're feeling now will be history soon. Perhaps not soon enough but it is on its way out!! I also try to rememeber when I have these kinds of feelings that they are based on my hormones and not necessarily on my reality. It's like the pms symptoms you have right before your period. One day, your life is great and everything looks fine. You can handle whatever stresses you have. Then you begin that pms cycle and everything, overnight, can look bleak and miserable. Nothing has changed but your hormones!! It's just an awful feeling but it passes. So will this.

Four days is just not long enough to feel a real difference but time passes quickly and before you know it, you'll have your first 2 weeks down. Then 3 weeks, then a month and you'll start to feel a difference as the weeks go on. I'm waiting for my new increased medication to kick in and the time can't pass quickly enough for me either but I'm not in the same postion as you.

Try to eat well during this time and also get some exercise if you can. Also try to get enough rest and avoid doing things you don't like for a while! LOL! I know that can be impossible but if you're anything like me, you may put yourself into stressful situations that you could just as well avoid!! And make sure to take your medication first thing every morning on an empty stomach. You want to give it the best chance it has to be fully absorbed. Also - check in a few times a day here if you want to. I'm back from vacation and I'm always checking in to see what's up here!! We'll keep you cheered up!! Big hugs, Cathy :)

thanks ladies. i am glad to know you guys are here and that you can relate with all the ups and downs this disease can bring. i still am just holding on by my toenails. but it is also the week of AF. so no progress can really be expected- more hormones to get out of whack. UGH! all i ask for is some relief!

Just hang in there at least until TOM is over!! You'll feel so much better. I think this condition only increases the severity of TOM symptoms ...... it's a definite no-win situation. Indulge yourself in something that's special and just for you. Even if it's just ice cream or some special dessert. Take a long, leisurely walk. Put some music on and dance in your living room!! Plant some flowers. Go buy a bunch of new magazines and take as long as you want to read them all. Skip dinner and just have dessert! Go out to dinner if you usually cook every night. See the pattern here?? :) Do something nice for yourself to help yourself through!! Hugs, Cathy
