Hi. I was just dx last month with hypothyroid. I just started synthoid 50mcg last Thursday. My main problems are fatigue and being cold all the time. I think I have had this problem since as early as 1997 when I gained 50 pounds over a summer. I went to a gp in 1999 and he said my thyriod was just fine, so I believed him. The only thing that got me back into the dr's was loss of vision. Does anyone know if I'll start to lose some of this weight? That would be nice. What about indegistion? Is that a problem with hypo? I've had this awful indegestion that just sits in the back of my throat for about 3 weeks now. Before that was heartburn for the first time in my life for 3 days. I had an ultrasound last Monday, but have not heard the results yet.

Hi Jada_boo,

It does seem to be a pattern that a lot of us have our thyroid problems a while before they actually get diagnosed.

Hi Calley. Thanks for your reply. I don't know what my test levels are. My dr. didn't tell me, and I didn't think to ask. I have a problem with not asking questions. I just don't think to ask any. I also have endometriosis, IBS, & PMDD. I had ttc w/ my ex-husband for about 5 years, and now I think I know why it never happened. I take my synthoid first thing in the morning on an empty stomache w/ nothing else. I've been tired for so long, I don't know what I'll no w/ myself once I get some engery:)

Hi Jada - It's going to be so wonderful for you once you start to get some energy again. And i think you're right about the difficulty you had in trying to concieve being related to the hypothyroidism. It frequently is a problem. So is indigestion, irregular and/or heavy periods, heavy pms symptoms and constipation and/of diarrea. Once you get diagnosed, it seems like all the pieces start to fall in to place and you realize that isolated conditions and problems are all related. I hope you start to feel better soon!! Cathy :)

Welcome. I'm fairly new here too. I gained 30 pounds in two months for no reason. I was actually doing Weight Watchers with my husband and had been losing and then it STOPPED. I haven't been able to lose it yet. It's been up and down and I got pregnant in between...about 15 months time period. I'm now back full force to getting this fixed. I had doctors tell me for years my thyroid was fine. But what it was, it was normal range but not normal for me...... I kept hearing, you just

I just wanted to thank everyone for the replys. It's nice to have somewhere to go where people understand what I'm going through. I'm tired of hearing that I can't possibly be tired I just slept for 10 hours. But I am tired dang it!!!:) I'm a full time student and work 35 hrs. a week. That's a lot for someone with hypo.

Just wanted to say thanks again

Jada
