Hi. I just got off the phone with my dr. and he said my ultrasound was normal. Which I figured since I hadn't hear anything. I had that done on 6-28-04. My tsh was 18. I wasn't expecting it to be that high. My antibody levels were elevated, which means I have Hastimoto's. I go back for another blood test in 3 months. I was only prepared for being hypo, now I has hashimoto's as well. Now what? I have no idea where to go from here. I've been on Synthoid for about 3 weeks now. I can tell a little difference. I'm not as tired as I was, and I have just a little bit more enegry.

Hi again! Nothing has changed for you. It just means that your hypothyroidism is caused by hashimoto's and nothing else. It means it is an autoimmune condition. The treatment is exactly the same as if it were just hypothyroidism without hashi's. Taking the right dose of medication will keep the hashimoto's under control. I'm glad that you're starting to feel better. You should keep getting better from this point on as long as your TSH levels continue to come down. I hope this helps! Cathy :)

Thanks Cathy. That makes me feel better. I'm still new at all this.
