i am barely making it these days ladies. i finally had to ask work for some time off due to health issues- since i used all my time with my maternity leave. thank God, they are good there and obliged. so i have next week off. i swear i feel like my TSH must be near 100 now. i feel worse then i did when it was 63. the good news is i saw the endo and he is running all kinds of tests. i am in the middle of doing my 24 hr urine collection. does anyone know what this is for and what he is testing? does anyone else know what is involved in the testing the endo's usually do- like what they are looking for? i saw my lab slip and it looked like he was running 7 or 8 different blood tests and then the urine test. i did not recognize any of the lab tests except the TSH and i saw a metabolic panel. other than that, the language was really foreign to me. i did also call back and beg for them to see me sooner than aug. 10th and now my appt. is for aug. 2nd. i wish i knew what he was looking for. as sometimes i wonder if there is more going on with me than hypothyroidism.

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad right now. I hope things get better for you soon. I've never seen an endo, so I can't give you any advice there. I just wanted to let you know that your in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Erika - I'm so sorry that you feel so bad. I hope you're doctor is able to find out if there's more to this for you than the hypothyroid - although that alone can really make you feel very bad!! I don't know what kinds of tests he could be running. At least you got in there earlier. That's good news. Hang in there. You're in my prayers, too. Hugs, Cathy

Re: the urine test, I had one of those before- it was some years ago when my B-12 suddenly dropped (I developed Optic Neuritis because of it) and they were trying to determine if I had Pernicious Anemia so one of the tests was called the "Shilling's Test"...of course my B-12 level suddenly went back up! It is scary- I don't know what else they were checking for. The test is cumbersome but easy to do- as long as you can stay home somewhat, haha.

Good luck! Keep us posted!
