So, I went to my family doctor today to have my referral renewed to my endo. At first she didn't seem to want to do it. Like she couldnt rationalize it, b/c she said my health insurance is picky about that, but she did renew it once she found out the endo wanted to do the cat scan.
My endo thought I might need to be referred to a rheumatist b/c I was complaining of achy joints and cold hands/feet. My family doc felt them and did bloodwork and x-rays today.
I do have an autoimmune thyroid. My endo said it was Hashimoto's, so I must have tested positive for the Hashimoto antibodies. My Antithyroid Antibodies came in at 136 & 146, but my TSH is normal.
My last TSH was 0.84. That was 3 or 4 months ago. I'm just wondering if maybe I have more going on than my thyroid. What do you all think. I do understand that hypothyroid symptoms can sometimes lead to achiness--I dont know how to spell that! But as far as my last test I am not hypothyroid, not at that time.
So I'm wondering... what is going on?! Guess I'll find out soon, I should be getting my test results soon, and I'll be back in my endo's office soon.

I think my job search is going somewhere! I'm trying to relocate to where my husband and I live. No more 1 hour each way drives! I'll fill you in when I know more. Thank you!
We are moving on Friday so, I probably wont be online thursday-sunday. Don't think I'm disappearing or anything! LOL.

Inflammation in itself is like a disease, a disease of aging and nutritional deficits!! You might want to look into Dr. Perricone's book, The Perricone Prescription. It's all about reducing inflammation by diet and supplements. If you like salmon - it's perfect!! Even if you don't, you can always substitute the tablets for the real thing. But it's an amazing program. He has a website but I don't know what it is!! Anyway ....... hope that other info helps a bit. hugs, Cathy :)
Yah in the spring my doc said something about raynauds b/c I was getting realy cold hands, so cold they hurt and it took forever for them to warm up. I started wearing thin gloves when it was still nippy in the morning. It kept them from being cold and hurting.
Right now though I've been very achy. Enough for me to take ibuprofen. I'm achy like when I have a bad flu. Its mostly in my writsts, knuckles, elbows and lower back. Not my knees and ankles or feet. Its weird. Maybe the autoantibodies got sick of my thyroid!? ha ha...
Thanks for that information though, I knew that there could be achiness associated w/ the thyroid but I wasn't sure what why and how exactly. I will have to look into that book. I also want to get Mary Shoman's living well with autoimmune disease.
Just going through this I've realized how much I need to change what I eat. Like a lot of the good advice, eat for wellness. Eat the good whole foods! I love chocolate and coffee -- I know sugar and caffiene aren't the best things to be eating. Maybe with the move it will help me to start out fresh! New habits! I have majorly cut down on my coffee intake. Now its just about 1 or maybe 2 cups a day and that's usually 1/2 reg 1/2 decaf.
I am definately going to check on that perricone's prescription book. Maybe I can check it out at the library.
Thanks so much again. I'm glad that you are getting some R & R while the kids are away at camp. I'm sure that you do miss them. But I bet its so cool when they come home and how much they have to tell you!
Talk to ya soon, --Lisa
