Does anyone ever become "stable"?

I've been hypo (and at times, hyper due to too much meds) for years. Except for the first few years, my dosage has changed all the time! Now it is changing every six weeks. I am curious- does it ever just STABLIZE? I am waiting for test results but wondering what stability means when it comes to thyroids! Is it like the weather, constantly changing? Or does it eventually get to a quiet point when one finds the right meds, right dosage?

From what I've heard from others, some do actually stabilize and stay in a "normal" level for the most part.

Well, my TSH level seemed to have stabilized at 2.7 over the last 10 months, but my meds changed twice during that time. The problem was, 2.7 wasn't good for me. I really need it to be down more into the normal range so my meds have been increased again and I go back to have more blood work in 2 weeks. The way I look at it, your TSH level may stabilize if you finally reach the normal range but your medication may continue to change - up or down - to keep you there. It also matters how you feel, and with the way I feel now, I would consider myself stabilzed, regardless of how many med changes come in the next months. Am I making sense or is that too confusing?? I'm hyper, and i've had the same problem for years, too. I think even healthy thyroids fluctuate. Anyone know if that's true?
