Happy Saturday!!

This has been such a cazy week with my kids back from camp, I feel I didn't have the time I like to take to spend on the board! And yesterday, I attended an all day training program for work and the speaker was just outstanding. But it was so emotionally draining! (I work with 5 and 6 year olds at an inner city school. There are so many problems there.)

So here I am today, waking up at 6:30 when I really wanted to sleep! But I thought I'd check in here, then go work out. I'm hanging around the house today so I'll have time to check on the board and ses what's up! Hope everyone has a great day! Cathy :)

Thanks, Cathy! I hope you have a great day, too! : )

I started taking my medication (Synthroid) in the early morning hours, as one poster suggested. When I wake early...even if I am not getting up yet...I take it. Then I know for certain I will not be eating or taking anything else (ie-vitamins) until 2-4 hours later.

That alone could make my TSH level decrease, no? (As before I was taking my pill WITH breakfast, AND my vitamin!)

We'll see how it goes...and to whoever suggested this way of taking my pill...thank you!

Aren't Saturdays great? so relaxing.

I'm back! My computer had 13 viruses in it... So my dh fixed it up! I was having a hard time using Ivillage and was constantly getting popups when I used my yahoo mail--which is not normal!

Well, here's the scoop on the job. If I take it I will be making a 6,000/yr pay cut. We figured it out and we could do fine with that. Here's the killer. Insurance for me would have cost $28.00 bi-monthly. So that would be $56.00. With me and my hubby it would have been $218/bi monthly, for a total of $436 a month! So with me taking the paycut and having to pay a quarter of my salary out for health insurance--we would be at poverty level for a family of two. OUCH. I'm the one with the steady job, my husband is an union electrician and has been laid off for 2 years. Luckily he's good at finding side jobs, but its feast or famine with electrical work. Very seasonal. It wouldn't be a wise choice. The good news is that I am going to be scheduling another interview the week of the 16th. Its for a company called Kindercare and the director is going on her vacation and she said she will call me monday the 16th for an interview. They are a corporate type organization and I think they will be able to give me a better offer.

I hope everyone is doing fine. I know I missed a lot this past week.

Take care, --Lisa

Hi Karen - I think that's going to make a big difference for you. Because your body will be able to absorb and use more of the hormone than it got before. Cathy :)

Hi. Thanks for letting me know about when to take the Synthroid. You know what is sad? I have taken some sort of Thyroid medication since I was 3 months old, and I never knew not to take it with food and multivitamins. I really do appreciate that info. Maybe I will feel more energetic now? Hopefully. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Hi Carol,

Yes, I am hoping I will feel better taking my medication this way...and if I don't I will march right to my Dr. and tell him I'd like for him to increase the dosage so we can get my level to 1-2. (I know that the 1-2 TSH level is normal, thanks to what you have taught me!) : )
