It sure sound as if you've been through a lot!! And I think you're right, you do feel as if you're aging when your thyroid isn't functioning properly. But the good news is that once you get your medication straightened out, you start to feel younger again! It's reversible! :) Why did you stop seeing your endo and start with a PCP? It sounds as if your endo knew what they were doing and your other doctor did not.
Stressful situations not only use up more of your reserve of thyroid hormone but they also cause more of a Hypo reaction in the thyroid. I'm finding it hard to find the right words here!! But stress is not good for your thyroid and so it's not surprising that after all you've been through with the accident, etc, that your tsh is rising. Over time, and under less stressful circumstances, your level should come back down to near normal levels like it was at 2.7. At least you know you've reached that level before. There's no reason to assume you can't do that once again. Can you go back to your old endo?? Cathy :)
