Does anyone else have trouble with their eyes?

For the past few days, mine have been dry, itchy and sore.

It feels like I just need to close them to make them feel

better. Also, my right one has been twitching almost constantly.

I've had that happen in the past for a day or so, but this has

been just about everyday for atleast a month!

My vision is blurred at times, but then it goes away.

I know that being at a computer all day doesn't help, but

they were this way over the weekend too.

Any suggestions for what I could do to make them feel better?

I've never used eye drops before and I didn't know if that

would be helpful or not.

Thanks!

Shelly, as someone who is hypo and who has had two eye conditions (supposedly not related to my thyroid, buuuuut) I would go to the eye doctor pronto! I have had both uvetitis and optic neuritis. Both conditions are not related to each other! Why take a chance with your vision? It's probably nothing- but when I had uvetitis, I always wanted to close them to make them feel better. It has to be treated. You may not have this but I wouldn't take a chance!

Thanks Sherry.....

I guess it wouldn't hurt to go for an eye exam, esp. since I am 32 and my only eye

exam consists of what I need to get my drivers license! And even that was done a few

years ago. I guess I will call the one that my mom goes to, that will save me from

having to search for yet another Dr.

I will call and see if he takes my ins. Can you believe that, I even have vision ins.

and still I don't go. I guess it wasn't important before, since I wasn't having any

problems.

So, this uvetitis, how did they treat you for that?

I got some eye drops at the drug store last night, Clear Eyes, thinking that if it

was allergy related that would help. Man did it ever burn, I don't think that was

supposed to happen, but then again, I have never used eye drops before!

Shelly, uvetitis is serious (it is often a sign of other illnesses) but easily treated. Untreated, it can cause vision loss over time! They give you steroid eye drops- you return after 2 weeks for a checkup. That's it. I remember the Dr. asking me if I was ill- if I had any other physical problems....I went to an ophthamologist (sp?) and his question really was unsettling....! After that it seems things went haywire. LOL! The Optic Neuritis was about 8 years later tho.

Good luck!

I'm not sure what the Dr is that my mom sees, I will check with her.

My son hit himself in the eye with a necklace (on Mothers day of all days!)

and I really like the Dr that he saw for that, but he's a retnal surgeon so

I don't think he's what I need, atleast I hope not! :o) LOL

I have Graves disease and my eyes have bulged a little so the lids don't cover them completely. Therefore, they are dry a lot and feel irritated. However, they don't twitch. What type of thyroid problem do you have? I would recommend seeing an opthamologist that specializes in eye problems related to thyroid conditions.
