New TSH level
2
Fri, 08-20-2004 - 10:57am
is 6.13(it was previously 7.4) and he says that that is still way too high (his words) and he upped my synthro to .125mcg from the smaller dosage I was taking. I am to go back in 7 weeks for another blood draw and call his office the next day and leave a message asking them to call in a scrip for a year if the level is right, otherwise they need to call me with updated info and we will take it from there. Also, my antithyroid antibodies were positive, which he says indicates an autoimmune problem, which led to my thyroid issues.

So, off to the pharmacy in a little bit to get my new scrip filled

Sounds like your doc has a good handle on things then, by checking you often, hopefully he can get you within "normal" ranges soon!

Hi Leigh Anne - are you feeling any better now that your TSH is lower? I hope so. I just have one bit of advice for you to think about. You really need to be seen 6 months from the next 7 week visit. One year is a long time to wait since your levels aren't yet stabilized. I could see if you were always at a certain TSH level and you were feeling fine but not just yet. Well, that's just something to think about. And I wouldn't fill that whole year's prescription just yet either - when you get it. Because these things change all the time and you'll get stuck with medication you can't use. Just some things to think about! Hugs, Cathy :)
