I am hypothyroid and have been taking synthroid 125 mcg for about 5 years now. I've never had any problems, but lately I've been very hot and my hair is falling out like crazy. I've never had my hair fall out before. Does anyone have any thoughts? Do I need my synthroid adjusted?
Edited to add: I should also mention that I had my bloodwork done about a month ago. My TSH was between 1 & 2, which is where I normally feel my best. At that time I wasn't hot and my hair wasn't falling out.

Hi and welcome - being hot is more a symptom of hyperthyroidism than hypo. Perhaps you're too much on the lower end of the range? Hair falling out can be a side effect of the synthroid itself but since you've been on the same dose for awhile now, it doesn't seem like that would be the isssue. Is it possible that you're in premenopause - which would account for both the hair loss and the hot feelings? Cathy :)
