I figured it was that. had the uptake done...and confirmed!

Oh well. I felt terrible though taking that little bit of radioactive iodine. I didn't feel ill but I felt like my neck was gonna explode! It ached, it felt a little tighter, like someone was pushing on my neck- which made it slightly harder for air to get through.

With that said, they offered to treat me immediately with radioactive iodine, which I declined. I dont think I want to do that.

I guess I have to wait until the 15th, to talk to the Endo and see what I can do.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Hi April

Well you're over the first hurdle. I'm surprised they offered to give you the RAI right there. Usually, or so I thought, the endo likes to get the thyroid under control & back in normal ranges before doing the RAI. (I'm still new to all of this and probably don't know what I'm talking about LOL!!)

I go back to my endo in 2 weeks. I am still not going through w/ the RAI. I'm hoping I can be regulated with meds for a while. I also am looking into alternatives 'cause I'm not crazy about taking so much medication either.

Let us know what your endo says. Hang in there.

Hi April - I'm sorry you had such a hard time. It sure sounds unpleasant and I don't blame you for not going further on that appointment. It will be good to see what your endo says. I hope you're feeling better soon. Cathy :)
