thyroid symptoms, blood tests normal?

I have been experiencing symptoms that are driving me crazy, such as rapid heart beat, "lump" in my throat I can't swallow (not blocking airway),I have the feeling of being "smothered" at times,am heat sensitive, I have weight & hair loss, tired & irritable & feel confused sometimes too. My Dad has reminded me that I have a very strong family history of thyroid disorders. So I saw my PCP & he has taken all the blood tests necessary to check my levels, but the results were normal. Is it possible to still have a thyroid condition with the blood results normal? I have a follow up visit with an Ear, Nose, Throat specialist for a throat scope as well as a sonogram of my "thyroid" region. I'm just wondering if my symptoms are gland related & not all in my head. Any & all coments welcomed.

Hi and welcome - it sure sounds like you're hyperthyroid. Do you have your blood test results handy? That would help. Did the doctor test for antibodies or just a TSH? Cathy

I dealt with thyroid issues for almost 3 years before having to go on meds.
