I was looking for info on muscle spasms related to Levothroid for Dee and our new poster but didn't find any connection. What I did find, though, leads me to think that you need to speak to your doctors about these spasms to make sure they don't have a neurological cause.

That said, here's an interesting link that says the cause of these spasms - once anything serious has been ruled out - can be a calcium or other supplemental deficiency! Very interesting. Here's the link: http://www.acu-cell.com/dis-mus.html

Thanks Cathy.... I can't seem to find any who believes I acutally have spasms. I wish someone would wake me up from this wacko dream I'm having. I want to get back to reality. Does all this thyroid related stuff feel like a dream to anyone else???

Yes, it all seems like that to me, too. The key, I think, is in finding a knowledgable doctor that takes all of it seriously and can actually act in your behalf - instead of against you!! I was wondering the other day if I had found a doctor like I have now almost 3 years ago, how different my experience would have been. All the frustration and feeling lousy, all the research and reading I've had to do, all the confusion of not knowing what to believe .... are there actually people out there who have had a good experience right from the start?? If you're out there, introduce yourself!!! LOL!!

I'm still looking up info on this because it's kind of fascinating. And not anything I've ever seen on any list for hypothyroidism. If I get a chance, I have my endo follow up appoinment this Wednesday, I'll ask him if he knows anything about it. Cathy :)

Hi:

Cathy, thank you! It's just so great that I can come to this board and have a few moments where it feels like people understand and care! These are the moments when I don't feel trapped in a horrible dream! I am really struggling to face the rest of my life right now and I truly feel like no one understands (outside of you guys).

I'm going to read up on the supplement article you posted. Last night as I lay twitching and aching, I wondered about deficiencies... I read a post once from someone having trouble with memory and I thought she mentioned muscle spasms (I could be wrong; my memory is horrible) and it turned out she had that rare-er form of anemia where it's a vitamin B-12 deficiency...

Anyway, I see 2 endos this week (LOL)... I'll mention it to them both. By the way, did I ever mention that I printed off my posts and your replies to take with me to my endo appts to help me remember and stay focused? It was really great, thanks to the board, I have a written history of what I've been going through. Very helpful.

Thanks again for your help, it really means a lot,

Dee.

I had a "moment" and decided that I need to really find someone who can help. It's interfering with my family/marriage/self.
