Test Results question

Can anyone help me determine what these test results mean? I am 12 weeks pregnant and the dr. had my thyroid testing because I was complaining of increased heart rate. I have also been extremely hungry, it seems like I am never full. I have noticed I have an increased intolerance to heat, however my hands and feet are still ice cold most of the time (usually I am always cold). Also, last year at this time I was taking my temps in the morning and they were always around 97.2
TSH = .14
T3= 100
Free T4 = .88
The increased heart rate also makes me extremely fatiqued and worn out. Thanks for any input.

Hi and welcome - Did your doctor tell you that you were hyperthyroid? The normal range for TSH .3 to 3.0 so your level at .14 is below the bottom range, which indicates hyperthyroididm. The T3 - which I'm assuming is not the free T3 but total T3, the range there is 80 to 220, so you seem to be ok there. The range for free T4 is 0.7-2.0 so your level at .88 seems to be ok, too. I'm not a doctor, I'm just looking at your numbers based on the average lab ranges. SO the good news is, you aren't far enough along tohave very high T4 and T3 readings, which is a measure of the amount of thyroid hormone is your system. Those are the thyroid hormones themselves, T4 and T3. But your TSH level, which measures how much thyroid stimulating hormone you have in your system, shows that you are producing more thryoid hormone than you need. Not a lot more, but you have the classic symptoms. I know that a thyroid condition can be bought on by pregnancy and relieved within 6 months or so after childbirth. But your doctor should have a plan for treating you at this point. Has he or she discussed anything with you yet? I can look for more info for you tomorrow, too. It's late now but i wanted to get back to you! Cathy :)

Thank you for that information. I was confused as to why the TSH were low but the T3 and T4 numbers looked normal. My Dr. said that I was hyperthroid but she wasn't worried about the numbers and would test me again, probably after my next visit in four weeks. However I feel awful when the heart rate thing kicks in, and I could eat 3000 calories in a day and still be hungry (not sure if that's pregnancy related or not, but I didn't have that with my last pregnancy). I normally eat 1500 - 1800 pre-pregnancy.
