For about the last year and a half or so I have gotten recurrent canker sores on the tip of my tongue. The come on bout every three months and stay anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. Last time I had it so long and had read an article about yeast infections Causing canker sores and so I called the doctor told him I had a yeast infection and would they give me an oral med? They ordered the single dose Diflucan and within two days it was gone. That was 4 months ago. Since then if I started to feel a tingle on my tongue I took some acidophilus and no canker sores. I also read an article that said that chronic yeast infections could also be a sign of autoimmune disorders. Canker sores are very common in people with HIV also. Where my hubby has a predisposition to cold sores and sores on his feet (he is a diabetic) another friend gets rashes on her skin (she has lupus). Does the connection to Hashimotos make sense. Either way I am happy to not have any more of them. My migraines have also decreased to only one or two per month. Yay!!!!!! Now if I could just drop fifteen pounds I would be in heaven. Mary
