I saw my endocrinologist today. My symptoms (rapid heartbeat, hand tremors) are getting worse again. He said my lab results from a week ago show my T4 is on the high side of the normal range, but my T3 is still high and my TSH is still low. He switched me from PTU to methimazole to see if that makes me feel better. He said to go back for more lab work in 10 days and he'll increase the dosage then if he has to. The weirdest symptom I have is running fevers at night, sometimes 100.5 or 101. Does anyone else with hyperthyroidism have that? He didn't seem too concerned about that, just said hopefully it will go away when my medication is titrated correctly.
I suppose this could be due to stress, since my husband filed for divorce a few weeks ago. I just think the rest of my life could be managed so much more easily if I felt healthy for a change.

Stress is one of the major causes for your thyroid to go "crazy". I have been on meds for eight years for Hypo and was doing very well. Then about four months ago, my symptoms switched over to hyper and my Dr. is trying to level me out. One of the symptoms I experienced was night fever 100 or 100.2-3. Very uncomfortable. My blood is being tested on a regular basis so I know I am going to level off sooner or later!! I hope it will be on the soon side.
Just wanted to let you know that low grade fevers are one of the symptoms. Just keep your Dr. informed!
Hope this was helpful.
