Hi Everyone!! I just got my TSH results back from last week. I hadn't been tested in a year because i just couldn't afford it, and i mean i was desperate. Well, I'm hyper at .16, i was kind of surprised because normally i would've run to the ER by now. I've had much worse symptoms with much better levels. I wonder why? I just wish i would lose some weight, funny how i quickly gain if i go hypo and how slowly i lose, if at all, when i'm hyper. I never had a weight prob before. It's really kind of depressing. I don't even look like myself anymore.

Hi cshellie04,

I think that's one of the puzzling things about thyroid stuff.

I really don't know about my other figures. They never check them, only tsh. I guess that's why i've had so many swings back and forth. I think it's a money issue. I have insurance now, but i have to pay up front and file it myself. Plus things have changed with my doctor, he's in a new clinic no longer specializing in family practice. He still takes his old patients, but everything is different when you change like that. I really try to stay tuned to how i feel, but i just can't always tell. I was getting a little shaky at times like after exercise, and my hair has fallen out for so many years it's practically normal to me. But all in all, i've been functioning well and feel like i look a lot better. My face is not so bloated etc.

Glad you were able to receive a blood test. Did the Dr. place you on meds? If so which one and how much? I have been hypo for eight years and then this Spring I became hyper and my level now is .012 so My Dr. is tyring to bring me to what is considered a normal level - good luck to you.

Hi Babs,

I was already taking Tapezole, so now i take an additional 5 milligrams each day. Hopefully that will bring me down to normal. I've taken just about every dose possible though, and i go through normal ranges on my way to hypo or hyper, it never seems to level off. i've heard that after you become normal, you should back of about 5 milligrams per day. I'd like to try that this time and see what happens. My doctor is really not very good anymore. He didn't even reschedule me like usual, but every thing has changed at his clinic. Usually he says when to come back and test again though, but not this time. I hate being left up in the air.
