Hi there Amy again!! This goes along with my other discussion--Please Help-- I got my test results back and the pcp says they are normal. T3 is 107: TSH 2.96: and cortisol is 7.6. If they are not in the optimal range please let me know. I don't know what the normal range is on these test. I still feel tired, like I don't get enough sleep in the mornings. I am currently taking Levoxyl 100mcg.

Hi - I can't say I know MUCH about test results. But from what I read, TSH is better around 1.

I hope this helps a little. I sure someone who knows more will give more insight!

Hi Amy - I have to look up the range for results on cortisol and get back to you. On the TSH, that falls within the normal "lab" ranges but it's not what a normal thyroid TSH level reads. That would be between 1 and 2. So if you're still feeling symtpoms, try talking to your doctor to see if he can increase your medication a bit to get you into that true normal range.(But don't talk to much or you'll get a mark in your file! LOL!) The T3 is ok - the range is 80 to 220. But less that 80 indicates hypothyroidism so perhaps that number could be higher if your TSH range was better. I'll check out the cortisol and get back to you on that one!! (If I can find anything.)

Ok - a site called MedlinePlus says this regarding cortisol ranges:

Normal values at 8 a.m. are 6 to 23 mcg/dl. Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories.

And from what I saw on another site, the level is highest in the early morning and drops as the day goes on. So yours looks normal by this standard. Hope that helps. Cathy :)

This site is a little more explainitory. It is possible that you are having some signs of defecinecy, According to the site if lower in range in the morning defeciency could be the problem, it should be high in the range in the morning.
