BRAIN FOG

Hi my name is Amy and I feel brain fogged in the afternoons, Cathy told me a little about it ( by the way you are a great person )but I still feel brain fogged in the afternoons, a good example is when you take a sleeping pill you get real groggy, I have hasimotos and take 100mcgs and pcp tried 125 mcgs but that was too much, chest pain and tingling arm, I was thinking along the lines of anxiety, but I don't think that is really associated with brain fog. I have tried talking to my pcp about it, but he just tells me the same old stuff, like I am stupid. This brain fog messes with my ability to drive, like I said I feel like I took a sleeping pill and I want to sleep in my mind but my body wants to go, go, go.

Hi Amy - that doesn't sound good at all. Did we talk about what you're having for lunch at all? Because that might make a difference. Let me look around and see if I can find anything new on this. It's been bothering me, too. Not in the way you're describing, but more in the memory area - I find myself slipping when I play along with Jeopardy!! This can't happen! :) But anyway, I'll let you know if I find anything. In the meantime, maybe someeon else has some good tips? Cathy :)

My endo told me that brain fog is common with Hashimoto's. I have it too - and it helps to increase the dose of Synthroid. I totally understand the feelings - it's a helpless feeling

Hi again! I don't have time to post all the info now but I have to tell you that all the articles I'm turning up on "brain fog" have to do with autoimmune conditions! Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Candida, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and others! So it makes perfect sense that we experience this too, since our conditions are also autoimmune. There's some indication that certain supplements can help. I'll post some more details later this afternoon. I have to head out now. Cathy :)
