Question about Synthroid
| Fri, 09-17-2004 - 6:24pm |
My doctor put me on Synthroid for low thyroid and it helped improve my year-long "flu like" symptoms (nausea, dizziness, cold, foggy head, etc). I felt 99% for 4 months and now the symptoms are coming back. Do I need a higher dose? Has this happened to anyone? I'm so upset that I'm getting sick again b/c I thought my problems were over. Also, doctor said my symptoms are not typical Hashimoto's symptoms - did anyone have these symptoms?

This is Babs and I think you should make an appointment with your Dr. and have a blood test. That is the only sure way to see if your meds are on the mark. I think your Dr. might increase your meds - however only a blood test will tell you for sure. Please keep me posted!

I know it's discouraging and kind of awful to feel those symptoms coming back. I think it's a very traumatic thing sometimes. But it does happen when you need an adjustment on your medication and it's perfectly normal. It's good for you to be so sensitive to how you're feeling. That means you'll be able to stay on top of it with the help of your doctor. Let us know how you do! Cathy :)
