New to thyroid meds and problems

I am new to this site and to thyroid meds. Does any one have the bloating
and constipation problems as symptoms? I have been on thyroid .1/4 gr. for
a month now working from one pill to six and still have all my symptoms.
I have been reading other posts and can agree to the arm and hand numbness
and tingling. This happens every night. Also the afternoon brain fog.
Another one I have that I haven't seen is my upper arms itch all the time.
Thanks for listening.

From whet I understand Tyroid effect both the skin and nerves so I would venture to guess that your itchies are from either dry skin or the nerves in your upper arms. My mom Doesn't have a tyroid problem but she does have a place on her upper arm by her elbow that has nerve damage and it itches constantly, if cortizone helps it's probobly dry skin, but if creams don't help then it's most likely nerves, if the itching isn't helped by cream, then try putting ice on it that helps my mom. I hope that helped.
Take care,
Michelle
I had both the bloating and constipation initiall as well---it probably took several months for those symptoms to go away and still the bloating happens from time to time!

Cathy, yes I am taking Amour Thyroid. It has been just one month and I am up to 6 1/4 grain pills a day. I was so excited to find out what was wrong I think I expected results
right away. I hope I can find enough cothes in my closet to make it till the bloating stops. This is the worse symptom.
Michelle, I will try the ice packs. Sometimes bendryl works and sometimes it doesn't. Mostly I think it just helps me sleep.
Laura, I can relate with you and the shins. Sometimes I feel like people must think I have fleas as I scratch my arms like crazy.
It is nice to know I am not alone with all these crazy symptoms and things going on with
my body. I will keep reading and following everyones advice.
