Side effect of synthroid?

Hi, all,

Haven't been on for a while - my blood work after 6 weeks on Synthroid has my TSH normal(after being over 100) and I can't believe how much better I feel!

Cathy, in reading the recent messages I came across the one from a few days ago ("how do I know which one I have?") where the poster mentioned that her doctor had warned her of potentional bone mass problems as a result of synthroid. Is this a common thing, or just something that would occur if you took much more than you needed? I thought synthroid was just something that your body would normally produce if you didn't have a thyroid disorder? Do you know anymore about this?

Thanks - Patti

Hi Patti - congrats on the blood work results!! That's great news!! The bone loss is the result of too much synthroid, not the correct dose. It's when you're overmedicated that problems can occur! Hope this helps. Cathy :)
