I recently had some labwork done for an upcoming IVF cycle. We have been trying to conceive since the birth of my son in 1999. Prior to that birth, I had my daughter back in 93 naturally conceived. After my son's birth, I have suffered two miscarriages. By the way we were blessed to have him via IVF as well. Well, my blood tests came back on the low side. My TSH level was .343. The normal range being .350 - 5.50. My doctor is having me see an endocronologist before he will allow me to do another cycle.
I have noticed the following issues. But I have lived with these sysmptoms so long that I just never put two and two together. But here is the list: brittle hair, hair thinning, tired, weight gain, two prior miscarriages. The weight gain I attributed to all of the meds from the negative IVF cycles - now not so sure.
What do you think???

I met with my endocronoligst yesterday. I am scheduled to take a thyroid ultrasound and take more bloodwork for the following: Thyroxine(T4), FreeT3 and a FreeT4. My blood result of the .343 did not seem to alarm the doctor. She said that the thyroid gland fluctuates from day to day. What did concern her is that I do have swollen neck glands. So she wants to have my nodules checked. I will keep you posted as to the findings. I am trying to relax and pray that all goes well with this ultrasound. Come to think of it, my mother, grandmother and my aunt all have large necks. I am hoping that this is a heredity issue and not a thryoid issue. I am hoping that they can get my thyroid regulated before the onset of my next IVF cycle - if not I will have to cycle later in the year or beginning of 2005.
