Coping while waiting for meds to kick in

I just started on meds a few weeks ago (see my other post below) and I was wondering if anyone has any tips for coping with the period before the meds start to kick in. Obviously there isn't too much that can be done, but I am trying to work full-time and care for a 5 month old and I feel almost like I can't go on.... The brain-fog and fatigue are just horrible.

Does exercise help?? Any diet changes??

Well I have the luxury of not working a full time job and my children are older but I had to do all of what you do now when they were 6 mos and 1 1/2 yrs working 3 jobs. Nap when you can, even if you don't want to. Don't push yourself to do more than you can, recruit help if you can. Drink plenty of water, eat regularly, don't skip meals and look at the positive....you now have meds, it only takes a little time now from this point to feel some relief. Depending on how close your dose is to what you really need and how far gone your symptoms are it could take aslittle as 2-3 wks before they kick in. As time goes by you may need other meds to make life comfortable, they make meds for the consitpation, put baking soda in your bath (which you will want to take to relief aches, pains, and stress) the baking soda will help with the dry skin. Use perfume free soaps, laundry detergent and avoid fabric softners. I didn't see if u said you are hypo or hyper which is my mistake so to clear this up...I am hypo and these are some of the things from the last 4 yrs that I've done to eleviate some of the symptoms. The hard part was finding out why you felt the way you do and getting help now the rest is just one step at a time towards the future. Good luck!
